1. Overview
This Privacy Policy covers the Optinex marketing website (this site), the OptinexPC desktop application, OPTINEX Shield, and OPTINEX Uninstaller. We designed the applications to be local-first, meaning diagnostic scanning and uninstall inventory happen on your device rather than in the cloud. This policy explains exactly what that means in practice.
2. Information collected on this website
When you submit the Contact form or Live Chat, we collect your name, email address, chosen topic, subject and message so we can respond to your inquiry. We do not use this information for advertising or sell it to third parties. Standard web server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be recorded temporarily for security and reliability purposes.
3. Information handled by the desktop applications
OptinexPC modules (PC Health Scan, Cleanup, Startup Manager, Performance Center, Storage Analysis, Windows Repair, Privacy Cleanup, Driver Health, Reports), OPTINEX Shield (Defender-backed protection, firewall and ransomware canaries), and OPTINEX Uninstaller (installed-program inventory, leftover scan) analyze system information locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to Optinex servers as part of normal scanning or cleanup. License activation and device registration send the minimum identifiers needed to enforce the seat cap — not your files or scan contents.
4. Accounts, checkout and activation
You can create an account, complete PayPal checkout, and activate a license online. We collect the minimum information needed to issue and manage a license: your name, email address, license key hash, activation device identifier, order and payment references, and subscription plan. Custom checkout records a service receipt and does not issue a software key. This data is not sold.
5. Cookies
This website uses strictly necessary cookies required for basic functionality (such as anti-forgery protection on forms and the signed-in session). We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information. Payment processing is handled by PayPal. Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your inquiry and are not shared with third parties except where required to provide the support you requested, process a payment or refund, or comply with the law.
7. Your choices
You can decline to submit the Contact form and use publicly available resources such as the Help Center and FAQ instead. If you have previously contacted us and want your message data removed, reach out and we will action the request.
8. Changes to this policy
If we collect additional categories of data, this policy will be updated, with a revised "last updated" date at the top of this page.
